Medical Office Management
Associate Degree Program
Healthcare offices, like business offices of all types, require trained and skilled personnel to provide day-to-day leadership and management for a variety of challenges ranging from managing and supervising personnel to planning and implementing office procedures to developing office policies and assuring customer service. The Apollo College MOM program provides this education in critical business and management to those who have already been trained in the technical aspects of an allied health field.
Prerequisite for entry into the Medical Office Management program includes successfully completion of an allied health program at an accredited college or university consisting of at least 720 hours of study and 30 semester credits. Thus, the candidate for the Medical Office Management Associate degree enters the degree program with the specialized knowledge and skill in an allied health field necessary to work in an entry level position. The Medical Office Management associate degree adds general education and business management courses that prepare the graduate for managerial/supervisory positions of higher responsibility in their health care field or in related health care businesses.
Applicants for enrollment in the Medical Office Management program must provide an official transcript evidencing graduation from an on-ground, allied health education program accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. The transcript must show that a minimum of thirty semester credits of study were successfully completed with a passing grade. Applicants to the online program must also complete an assessment to determine their readiness for the rigors of online instruction.
